I first decided that I needed to pay attention to what Vladimir Putin was saying when I saw this quote from him in a post on Gab. Putin's words are in bold here.
I never harbored any delusion that Putin is /ourguy/. We in the West, however, lack any leader who will even pay lip service to issues such as these:
"[The United States & collective West] sought to destroy our traditional values and force on us their false values that would erode us, our people from within, the attitudes they have been aggressively imposing on their countries, attitudes that are directly leading to degradation and degeneration, because they are contrary to human nature. This is not going to happen. No one has ever succeeded in doing this, nor will they succeed now."
This is an objectively true assessment of the Western program of promoting filth and depravity on a global scale. The fact that we only hear any allusions to these problems from Putin is less of an endorsement of Putin than a condemnation of the Western leaders who are orchestrating the destruction of our race.
Frankly, this stopped me in my tracks. I am so used to having political leaders spout nothing but blatant empty falsehoods wrapped in vague sounding verbiage, that it was a real shock seeing a major world leader actually saying something. Further, Putin's words here are a very good description of the process of destruction of traditional values being eroded from within that is going on here in the US and elsewhere in the West.
In this post I want to quote extensively from a speech by Putin shortly after the invasion of Ukraine. I include a link to the full text of the speech, and I highly encourage taking the time to read the full text, and decide for yourself if I am fairly quoting it.
The speech is from late February, shortly after the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine.

Since the majority of the post from this point is quotes from Putin, starting here I will put Putin's word in regular type, and my comments in italics. The emphasis in bold is mine.

I will begin with what I said in my address on February 21, 2022. I spoke about our biggest concerns and worries, and about the fundamental threats which irresponsible Western politicians created for Russia consistently, rudely and unceremoniously from year to year. I am referring to the eastward expansion of NATO, which is moving its military infrastructure ever closer to the Russian border.
It is a fact that over the past 30 years we have been patiently trying to come to an agreement with the leading NATO countries regarding the principles of equal and indivisible security in Europe. In response to our proposals, we invariably faced either cynical deception and lies or attempts at pressure and blackmail, while the North Atlantic alliance continued to expand despite our protests and concerns. Its military machine is moving and, as I said, is approaching our very border.
That eastward expansion of NATO is verifiable fact, and Russia has very good reason to oppose it.
Why is this happening? Where did this insolent manner of talking down from the height of their exceptionalism, infallibility and all-permissiveness come from? What is the explanation for this contemptuous and disdainful attitude to our interests and absolutely legitimate demands?
I recognize that insolent, contemptuous, disdainful tone Putin refers to, since I see it in the way government leaders in the US, Canada and much of Europe treat the people who disagree with them in their own countries - as contemptible, ignorant, deplorable, bigoted, unacceptable.
Putin then goes on to talk about how the West treated Russia after the collapse of the USSR, and how international relations would need to be redefined.
Of course, practice, international relations and the rules regulating them had to take into account the changes that took place in the world and in the balance of forces. However, this should have been done professionally, smoothly, patiently, and with due regard and respect for the interests of all states and one’s own responsibility. Instead, we saw a state of euphoria created by the feeling of absolute superiority, a kind of modern absolutism, coupled with the low cultural standards and arrogance of those who formulated and pushed through decisions that suited only themselves. The situation took a different turn.
Again, the characteristic arrogance and selfishness of Western leaders.
Putin now goes through examples of destructive wars started by the West to hurt Russia.
There are many examples of this. First a bloody military operation was waged against Belgrade, without the UN Security Council’s sanction but with combat aircraft and missiles used in the heart of Europe. The bombing of peaceful cities and vital infrastructure went on for several weeks. I have to recall these facts, because some Western colleagues prefer to forget them, and when we mentioned the event, they prefer to avoid speaking about international law, instead emphasizing the circumstances which they interpret as they think necessary.
That is verifiable fact, and the reference to the West conveniently preferring to forget it, is exactly right. In fact, I recently saw a clip of a member of Congress from that time bragging about the military strikes on Belgrade and their devastation - a congressman by the name of Joe Biden.
But the example that stands apart from the above events is, of course, the invasion of Iraq without any legal grounds. They used the pretext of allegedly reliable information available in the United States about the presence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. To prove that allegation, the US Secretary of State held up a vial with white power, publicly, for the whole world to see, assuring the international community that it was a chemical warfare agent created in Iraq. It later turned out that all of that was a fake and a sham, and that Iraq did not have any chemical weapons. Incredible and shocking but true. We witnessed lies made at the highest state level and voiced from the high UN rostrum. As a result we see a tremendous loss in human life, damage, destruction, and a colossal upsurge of terrorism.
Overall, it appears that nearly everywhere, in many regions of the world where the United States brought its law and order, this created bloody, non-healing wounds and the curse of international terrorism and extremism. I have only mentioned the most glaring but far from only examples of disregard for international law.
Again, verifiable fact, that exactly matches my memory of the early days of the Iraq war. Putin is justified in referring to the bloody, non-healing wounds and the curse of international terrorism that is the effect of the US started wars.
Focused on their own goals, the leading NATO countries are supporting the far-right nationalists and neo-Nazis in Ukraine, those who will never forgive the people of Crimea and Sevastopol for freely making a choice to reunite with Russia.
I did some research, and Putin's comments about far-right neo-Nazis in Ukraine are accurate, and are being glossed over and denied here in the West.
Those who aspire to global dominance have publicly designated Russia as their enemy.
This is critical - Russia is the enemy of those who desire complete global dominance, the new word order, the Great Reset. We increasingly see the effects of that desire for total control here in the US.

That concludes the quotes from Putin. In this final section I return to normal type for my words.
I could go further, but I think you get the idea. Again I encourage you to take the time to read the entire text of the speech. I repeat the url here.

If I take this statement by Putin, and compare it to what comes out of the mouth of President Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi and others in the US, and Justin Trudeau in Canada, the difference in quality is striking and pathetic, and reflects very poorly on the state of our government and culture here in the West. We live in a government, a media, and a culture of lies.
After reading this and other speeches by Putin, I think he's right about the US and the West.
